Head's Blog November 2018

At the end of last half term we were delighted to invite so many of you to join us in celebrating success at our Annual Awards Evening. As always this was a very special event during which we recognised the outstanding academic achievements and effort of students during the previous academic year. We were thrilled to have such an inspirational guest, in the form of Richard Hill, Chief Aerodynamicist and Chief Engineer at Lotus Engineering, who spoke about the importance of aiming high, and following your dreams and aspirations.

This month sees the start of the Year 11 mock exams. I wish them all the very best of luck, and remind them of the importance of effective revision to ensure success.

There is a real energy and buzz evident during our rehearsals for our school production of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. I am looking forward to this play which will be performed at the end of February. I am sure that we will all be thoroughly impressed with the talent of our students.

There are also choir and orchestra rehearsals preparing for our Christmas concerts. Our main event is the concert on the evening of 4th December. Tickets for this event are available from the school office. Every year, we also really enjoy welcoming children from our primary schools into school for the pyramid carol service, which this year is on 7th December.

Please remember that we are always available if you wish to discuss any aspect of school life, and if you would like to see the school in action during a working day then please contact the school office for a tour.
