Excitement is building as the cast and crew continue their preparations to entertain you all with their production of ‘The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’. I will be thrilled to welcome you in joining us for these fantastic performances later this month. Tickets are available from the school office. I am really looking forward to seeing this production after being fortunate enough to watch some snippets of rehearsals. The performers and their families will be incredibly proud of their achievements and will remember their involvement for many years to come. Of course, it is not just the hard work and dedication of the cast and crew that make a performance come together, there is a huge amount of support from numerous staff members too. Mr Gionis and Mrs Evenden have been working on the props, Mrs Hills is co-ordinating the costumes and the make-up, Mrs Simmonds-Mead has supported with the artwork, Mr Thomas is managing the sound and lighting crew, and of course, Mrs Keeble has been tireless as director. Thank you to all of the staff for your efforts in ensuring that our students can stage a successful production.

We were delighted that the school performance tables (https://www.compare-school-performance.service.gov.uk) published last month recognises the excellent progress made by students at this school. The high quality teaching and comprehensive support that students get here is instrumental in each of them attaining the very best possible GCSE grades, enabling them to go on to even greater successes in the future. The release of these government figures was featured in the East Anglian Daily Times (https://www.eadt.co.uk/news/department-for-education-release-progress-8-scores-for-suffolk-gcse-results-1-5864749).

Soon after half-term, Year 9 will be making curriculum choices for their GCSEs. A date for their diaries is 6th March for their Option Curriculum Evening. This evening is always so useful in helping them make the right choices for their futures. A fortnight later we will be welcoming Year 11 and their parents/carers for their Revision Evening on 20th March.

As always, if you have any questions about any aspect of school life, please do not hesitate to contact us.
