An 11-16 Academy
At Stradbroke High we are committed to offering a broad and rich curriculum to our students. School is a place to study and make progress within timetabled subjects, but also to explore beyond that: through inspiring visits or visitors to the school, through working off timetable and across subjects or yeargroups.
During the year we collapse our timetable to take part in a day of deep learning in a subject area or on a theme, and these are called Enhanced Learning Days.
15th October is the first Enhanced Learning Day of the academic year. Trips have been arranged as follows:
Years 10 & 11 will visit London on a trip run jointly by the Science and History departments. They will see History of Medicine exhibitions at the Wellcome Collection, and then a range of Science and History of Medicine exhibits at the Science Museum. The trip is highly relevant to both GCSEs, and should be very enjoyable.
Year 9 will visit London on a trip run by the English Department. They will visit the Imperial War Museum in the morning and then have front row seats for the acclaimed production of War Horse.
Year 8 will visit Bury St Edmunds with the Geography Department, investigating the extent to which international companies are present on the high street of a small town.
Year 7 will visit Banham Zoo, and so we are hoping for good weather!
