Stradbroke pupils appear on BBC’s Springwatch Unsprung

On Tuesday 14th June, a group of 13 Stradbroke High School pupils set off to RSPB Minsmere with Deputy Headteacher, Mr Axtell.  First, they were all signed in and rushed into the Discovery Centre for a safety talk.  After a small wait, the group walked to the television studio.  They all met the floor director and were put into their place ready for their T.V. appearance.  A special few were chosen to hold some pictures up for television viewers to see, three of whom were from Stradbroke.

When everyone was in the studio, they all watched a fascinating show presented by Springwatch presenter Chris Packham.  Pupils listened to one special guest, an Olympic Gold Medallist in Skeleton Bobsleigh, Amy Williams who had reached an amazing 92 miles per hour on her bob.  Another guest that pupils met was an author who has written books about nature, her most recent being ‘Rain’.  Finally, when the filming was over, they walked back to the minibus and were driven back to school.

The whole group had a fascinating and intriguing time.
