An 11-16 Academy
Stradbroke musicians celebrated the arrival of Christmas in style with their annual Christmas concert in the main hall. An appreciative audience of parents and friends was treated to a polished festive selection of favourites from across a range of genres and periods. Soloists were joined by the school orchestra, choir, massed brass ensemble, samba ensemble, amplifier group and hand bell ensemble.
Skye Lintott and Courtney Debenham performed a beautiful arrangement of 'O Holy Night', whilst lower school pupils Annalise Rolfe and Charlotte Watson gave a sensitive rendition of Harold Darke's version of 'In the Bleak Midwinter'. The evening was further enhanced by the expressive contributions made by the numerous instrumental groups. The wide range of styles helped to achieve a really atmospheric evening, ranging from the warm tone of the brass ensemble to the magical four part singing of the choir.
Well done to everyone who made the evening such a vibrant success.
