The festive season arrived in style at Stradbroke on the 4th December, when a large and appreciative audience filled the main hall for our Christmas concert. The evening began with a polished jazz inspired arrangement of ‘Santa Claus is Coming to Town’ performed by the Orchestra. The wide variety of ensembles and soloists that performed was testament to the quality of musical talent that exists at Stradbroke. Performances by the three brass ensembles, flute ensemble, Samba group and Choir demonstrated both maturity and expression in the way that students sang and played. The creative talents of three ‘Amplifier’ groups came together in the premiere of a joint Christmas composition which showed real flair and imagination. The audience was also treated to sensitive solo performances by Jo Capp, Jack Gionis and Jessica Rutherford. Many congratulations to all the Stradbroke High School musicians who made the evening a huge success.
