Review of Summer Music Concert at All Saints Church, Stradbroke

We held our summer music concert this year in the beautiful setting of All Saints Church here in Stradbroke Village. An exciting mix of music from the nineteenth century right up to 2016 was presented to an appreciative audience of parents and friends.

The concert opened with a high energy medley of three songs from the musical 'Joseph' as an homage to the fabulous full school production earlier in the year. In addition to the orchestra, there were also contributions from the brass ensemble, Orange Blues, the Samba band and 'Amplifier' composition group.

Highly polished solo performances came from Summer Amass, Courtney Chilvers, Hannah Allum and Jessica Rutherford all of whom have just left year 11. The evening was further enhanced by a mature and sensitive rendition of  'Count Your Blessings' performed by Courtney Debenham and Skye Lintott; a beautifully expressive performance by Ellie Ryan of 'Over the Rainbow' and the purity of tone of Charlotte Watson singing 'Lead Me Lord' by S.S. Wesley. In addition, the audience was also treated to the mellow and assured playing of Marty Gionis and a fantastic arrangement of 'Moon River'.

As the evening drew to a close, the audience showed their appreciation with rapturous applause. This memorable musical evening also helped to raise money for the upkeep of the magnificent All Saints Church.

Keep your eyes peeled for our next musical concert, coming in the new term...
