An 11-16 Academy
The music department has successfully been awarded a grant from the EMI Music Sound Foundation to assist with an outreach project. The grant has allowed the school to purchase a number of woodwind instruments to support the development of woodwind teaching in some of our feeder primary schools. It will therefore allow those pupils who otherwise might never have the opportunity to learn the flute or clarinet, to have access to a good quality musical instrument. Head of Music, Jonathan Williams said 'we are very grateful to the EMI Foundation for having the vision to support schemes that nurture a love of music in young people. This exciting project is helping to inspire primary school pupils to learn a musical instrument'.
