Stradbroke High School musicians celebrated the arrival of Christmas in style with their annual Christmas concert in the main hall. An appreciative audience was treated to a festive mix of favourites from across a range of genres and periods. Many congratulations to Josie Palmer in Year 7 and Jessica McInnes in Year 8 on their recent music exam success. Josie passed her Grade 4 Tenor Horn exam with distinction, and Jessica passed her Grade 4 Cornet exam with distinction. On Tuesday 4th July, the music department at Stradbroke High School welcomed over sixty excited and enthusiastic Year 5 pupils from our feeder primary schools to our annual music morning. The vast majority brought the musical instruments that they are learning at primary school in order to take a full and active part in the day.

An appreciative audience of family and friends filled the main hall on Thursday 29th June for our annual summer concert. The evening opened with an enthusiastic performance of 'La Bamba' by the school's orchestra. Talented soloists included vocalist Annalise Rolfe, who sang Adele's 'Someone Like You', whilst Lee Chilvers demonstrated his awesome gift on drums by creating and performing a 'percussive mash up'. Talented performing arts students from Stradbroke High School were invited by Suffolk County Council to open the county's prestigious 'Raising the Bar' education awards evening at Trinity Park in Ipswich on Monday 26th June. This annual event celebrates the success, achievements and hard work shown by individuals and educational organisations in Suffolk. Stradbroke High School awarded Silver Certificate by the Incorporated Society of Musicians
Stradbroke High School has been awarded the ISM / ISM Trust’s Silver Certificate. This means that more than 15% of all the school’s GCSE students achieved an A* to C in GCSE music. This award for achievement in music places Stradbroke High in the top 129 schools in the whole country.

A group of Year 8 and Year 11 students have been involved in a creative project involving both the music and art departments, that will eventually see a historic pipe organ restored. The 'Father' Willis organ at St. Peter and St. Paul's church in Fressingfield is being brought back to its former glory through both grants and fundraising activities.
