We are starting a new Peer Mentoring Programme. On Friday 6th September we held a training day for all students who had applied to be a Peer Mentor. It was brilliant; the external trainer spent the whole day sharing skills, knowledge and information with students from Years 9, 10 & 11. The students were outstanding in their contributions and showed very mature levels of commitment to becoming Mentors.

These are the best ever results for the school. I would like to congratulate the pupils, the vast majority of whom met or exceeded national expectations and thank our parents/carers for their excellent support.
Last year we were the only school in Suffolk to have had 100% of our high prior attainers gain 5+ A* - C (including English and Maths) for two consecutive years. This year we have continued this record by making it three consecutive years.

Two pupils have been recognised for their outstanding commitment to school sport during a full school assembly in the final week of the year. Lucy Maskery and Levi Chapman were presented with the shields by the Head of PE, Mr Adams, who spoke of the dedication that they had shown since they started at Stradbroke High School.

Over the past few months, a group of Year 9 and 10 pupils have participated in an evaluative essay competition, addressing the big issues in science and religion. With the aid of 12 short films by Professor Russell Stannard, Emeritus Professor of Physics at the Open University, and various classroom activities, pupils were invited to write a short 800-1200 word essay in two parts. We are pleased to announce that Stradbroke High School has become the first high school in Suffolk to receive the St John Ambulance Schools Mark.
The St John Ambulance Schools Mark is awarded to schools that show a significant commitment to the safety and health of their pupils, workforce and the wider community.
We achieved the Schools Mark after deciding to run a St John Ambulance basic first aid course as part of an Enhanced Learning Day. (ELD)
