Peer Mentoring Programme

We are starting a new Peer Mentoring Programme. On Friday 6th September we held a training day for all students who had applied to be a Peer Mentor. It was brilliant; the external trainer spent the whole day sharing skills, knowledge and information with students from Years 9, 10 & 11. The students were outstanding in their contributions and showed very mature levels of commitment to becoming Mentors.

Our programme will be created by students and guided by staff. This will begin…

Examination Success 2013

These are the best ever results for the school. I would like to congratulate the pupils, the vast majority of whom met or exceeded national expectations and thank our parents/carers for their excellent support.

Last year we were the only school in Suffolk to have had 100% of our high prior attainers gain 5+ A* - C (including English and Maths) for two consecutive years. This year we have continued this record by making it three consecutive years.

PRE Essays

Over the past few months, a group of Year 9 and 10 pupils have participated in an evaluative essay competition, addressing the big issues in science and religion.  With the aid of 12 short films by Professor Russell Stannard, Emeritus Professor of Physics at the Open University, and various classroom activities, pupils were invited to write a short 800-1200 word essay in two parts.  The first was a personal perspective on the subject matters covered in the films, whereas the second provided…
