VOSH Charity Week

This week we held a charity fundraising week in aid of Children in Need and the Syrian Refugee Crisis. 

The events were organised by our 24 VOSH Ambassadors.  We held a daily Musicathon where anyone could come and take part and perform at lunch time, organised by Marty Gionis and Courtney Debenham.  

There was also a cake sale, organised by Skye Lintott Ms Parman and a number of helpers, a non-uniform day where everyone contributed £1 and a dance-off…

Year 11 Theatre Trip

Year 11 GCSE Drama pupils recently went to see a production of 'The Turn of the Screw' at The New Wolsey Theatre in Ipswich.  A truly spine chilling ghost story set in the late 1800s, it recounts the experience of a governess in charge of two orphaned children in a remote country mansion.  This was a fantastic production which used inventive staging, set design, lighting and sound effects to bring across the supernatural theme of the play.  We were well and truly on the edge of our…

Stradbroke V Debenham Netball Match

Year 7 and Year 9 played against Debenham on Thursday 12th November.

Scores Year 9 Lost 14 - 4 with player of the match nominated to Susannah Murray

School Orchestra Open Music Fund Raiser.

The school orchestra today got four days of fundraising off to a great start by opening the Stradbroke High School 'Musicathon'. Over the course of this week, numerous musicians from across the school are performing to raise money and awareness for both 'Children in Need' and the Syrian refugee crisis. The event has been organised by the new school council called VOSH (Voice of Stradbroke High).

Guidance notes for parents – new progress reports in Key Stage 3

VOSH Meeting

Today we held the first of the new VOSH meetings at 9 am in the PRE room.  We had around 20 members turn up and they were all allocated roles so that we could organise the charity week efficiently.  Attached are the meeting minutes.

Competition Winners!

Congratulations to Chloe Thompson in Year 10 and Katie Childs in Year 8 who won the School Council Competition.  Chloe's idea for the name VOSH, the Voice of Stradbroke High School was the winner in the name category and Katie's picture of the person supporting the school was the winner of the logo design.  They both won house points and chocolate!  All other runners up also received house points and sweets for their form.  Well done to all who entered.

Business Association commits to enhance our pupils' futures

Apprenticeships, work experience, work place visits and teacher engagement in business were top of the agenda at the second Business Association of Stradbroke High School meeting (BASH). 

Ian Whitehead of Lane Farm in Brundish (who are hosting a tour the butchery and charcuterie business next week) sponsored the meeting where members committed to develop apprenticeship opportunities for our pupils at organisations such as Lane Farm, Hill Farm Oils in Heveningham and The Wild Meat…
