Year 9 PSHE morning with the band Boycode

This term we held a PSHE morning with Year 9 where they spent time looking at future careers.  First of all they had a competition to think of as many jobs as possible.  They then had to colour code the jobs to show how interesting they thought they might be.  They worked in groups to research possible jobs and then put together a presentation on why they thought the job or career would be interesting.

£14,000 Community funded outdoor PE equipment has been officially opened

At a celebratory launch we have officially opened our outdoor gym equipment for which the £14,000 funding has been organised by the Friends of the School (FOSH).  Sponsors including the James Grigg Trust, Stradbroke Exhibition Fund, Adnams, Tesco, Transam Trucking, FOSH and other community members all raised funds for the eight, dual pieces of outdoor equipment.…

Stradbroke Pupils are among the highest scoring for progress in Suffolk

The Eastern Daily Press has released information about how well Stradbroke High School has scored in the first year that the government has used a new measure - known as Progress 8 - to judge how schools are performing.

Progress 8 measures how well pupils progressed between the end of primary school and the end of secondary school, compared to pupils in other schools who got similar results at the end of primary school.

The Post 16 event proved to be a huge success thanks to all those employers and colleges who came along to showcase the opportunities available to young people once they leave Stradbroke.

In full swing!

The drama department is in full swing rehearsing the next school production, 'The Sound of Music'.

With a talented cast ranging from Year 7 to Year 11 pupils everyone is working hard to learn dialogue and songs.  You might have seen us rehearsing at Open Evening in the drama studio; we hope the Year 6 pupils who came to look round liked what they saw.
