Gifted and Talented Music Recital Evening.

Gifted and talented musicians from Year 7 up to Year 11 came together on the evening of Thursday 29th January to perform for parents and friends in our first recital evening. This new event is in addition to our regular concert programme, and was devised to allow an even greater number of our talented musicians to showcase and celebrate their musical gifts.

Gifted and Talented Performance Evening

On Thursday 29th January, Stradbroke held its first Gifted and Talented Performance Evening.  Around 14 students took part in what was an excellent evening. There were two musical groups who performed some modern songs, three piano solos, guitar solos, a cornet duet and a choral solo performance. In addition the new Jazz band, the Orange Blues, performed a fantastic rendition of Ronson and Mars' 'Uptown Funk'.  All of our students did us proud and the standard was outstanding. We hope this…

SAINSBURY'S ACTIVE KID'S VOUCHERS

Please could you help us by collecting Sainsbury’s active kid’s vouchers?  They will be available in store or when shopping online between 28th January and 5th May.  This means there is plenty of time to get collecting!

Royal Institution Christmas Science Lectures

On the 11th December 2014 we took 12 pupils from years 7-11 to London to watch the filming of this year's lectures entitled "How to Hack Your Home". Our pupils had their photos taken and they were broadcast on a large screen in Piccadilly Circus during the performance. We learned about an LED screen works and how Raspberry Pi computers can be used to film a scene from the Matrix film. The Shell building in London was turned into a video game screen and a member of the audience played…

Buses

We have been advised by both bus companies that there may be delays this morning due to icy conditions on untreated roads.  All buses are running and pupils should continue to wait for their bus to arrive.
