The Sound Of Music Review

Rachael Keeble and Jonathan Williams, Directors of the production have provided us with this review:"We are very proud and pleased to report back on the success of the school production 'The Sound of Music' which ran for 3 nights at the end of February. In total the production involved 36 students across all year groups in either an acting, music, technical, backstage or editorial role. Bearing in mind the size of the school this is an impressive number of our students who were keen to get involved. All of these students gave their time, commitment and enthusiasm to the production and made it a resounding success. This was a team effort, which not only involved so many of our students, but staff as well, who pulled together to ensure the production was of the highest quality.  The end of October saw us celebrate success at our Annual Awards Evening. This is always a special celebration of the academic achievements and effort of students during the past academic year. We awarded certificates and trophies to many students in years 8 -10 to recognise their excellent effort and achievement. There were also many Year 11 students who received specific subject awards and trophies to recognise their special contributions to school life and their outstanding personal qualities. This year’s special guest and main speaker was Jonathan Taylor, our new Executive Headteacher, and CEO of Sapientia Education Trust, who spoke about the power of having a positive approach to life, and to school studies in particular.In the first week of November we held our Year 10 Careers Day.  A huge thank you to all the local and regional businesses who were incredibly generous with their time and expertise to support our students in developing their employability skills.
