IT Systems Support

Thanks for visiting and welcome to our department's page.

The IT Team:

Karl Coleman - ICT Network Manager

Alec Keable - ICT Apprentice

We are responsible for support, maintenance and development of all the school's IT systems and infrastructure and also for keeping the school's website working properly.

We are available in the ICT Systems Support Office from 8:30am through to 4:30pm Monday to Friday. You can also contact us at ITSupport@Stradbrokehigh.co.uk . We are able to provide help and assistance with all ICT related issues to staff and pupils.

The team also provide ICT support to Worlingworth and Wilby Primary Schools.

ICT Resources at the school

Digital literacy is an essential skill for modern life and our school has excellent resources for use and teaching of ICT across all curriculum areas and an excellent ratio of computers to pupils (1 to 2).

We operate an ongoing, rolling ICT replacement program that ensures that no ICT equipment is ever over 4 years old.  ICT support staff are dedicated to making sure that all ICT equipment is in working order at all times. Most ICT faults are rectified within 30 minutes of being reported to us.

In 2014 the school's entire ICT network infrastructure was replaced as part as part of a larger £1Million infrastructure improvement project.  This work has provided the school with a state-of-the-art IT infrastructure allowing us to build a modern and robust system that will support the hard work of our staff and pupils for many years into the future.

The school has the following ICT resources to support teaching and learning:

  • All  classrooms  are  equipped  with  a  computer,  projector,  visualizer,  sound  system
    and interactive whiteboard.
  • 3 dedicated ICT suites, and 28 stations in the library.
  • The DT department has a suite of 20 computers equipped with A3 and A4 scanners in the Graphics classroom. In addition there are 15 wireless laptops available for use in any of the DT classrooms.
  • The Humanities department has 25 laptops for use in the Geography classroom.
  • The music department has 5 Apple mac computers for music production and is actively
    fundraising for more.
  • There are also suites of computers in the SSC and maths department for use by small groups.
  • The Science department has a set of 20 wireless netbooks for lab-based research.
  • The school hall is equipped with a projector, screen and audio system that is capable of
showing presentations and films to large groups.
  • Wi-Fi coverage is available throughout the school for use of staff and visitors by prior
    arrangement with the IT department.
