The DofE Award is a programme of personal development that is respected internationally. There are three Awards - Bronze, Silver, and Gold - and at Stradbroke, we offer training for Bronze and potentially Silver if there is a demand. It is entirely voluntary and is pursued in pupils’ free time.
The participants choose one activity under each of the headings: volunteering, skills, physical and expedition.
Participants must do a minimum of 3 months activity for each of the Volunteering, Physical and Skills sections, and plan, train for and do a 2 day (1 night) Expedition.
They also have to spend an extra three months on one of the Volunteering, Physical or Skills sections.

The annual DofE Taster Days will be available as one of the activities for the Enhanced Learning Day in July 2015. Year 9 students who are considering doing DofE in year 10 are invited to camp overnight, cook a meal and walk about 5 miles to get an idea of what the expedition section of the Award entails.
